I purchased this recently, and am amazed at it‘s condition considering its age. You may have seen this exact one on Reverb recently - they are super rare!
However, as a lefty player I came to the realization that it’s a bit too clunky for me to play upside down. I want it to go to a someone who will use it. I cleaned up the fretboard and flipped the nut, so I will restore the original nut and put on some new strings for the buyer. Unless you‘d like to keep the new lefty bone nut, in which case I will leave it be.

This Kawai SD4W is a rare MIJ gem ca. 1960s. An oddball axe, famously played by Hound Dog Taylor, this guitar scatches the itch for anyone looking for pickups, knobs and switches. Does it have many? Yes it does.
Individual volume control for each pickup, 1 master tone, 2 rhythm/lead selectors and on/off switch per pup. The truss is fairly cranked but has a little room. The bridge is lowered to the max but the guitar still performs rather well.
Electronics are functioning and sound great!
Cosmetically the guitar is in good vintage condition.
Scratches, scuffs, dings and patina where expected. The pickguard is missing a few screws but still holds just fine.
Handsome violin burst beams of the era. Included is a Japanese Naugahyde soft case.
